Valve released another update today. The trainer no longer works.

No trainer update until Sunday at the earliest. Most likely Monday. Sorry guys, Steam loves to push out these worthless updates on Friday nights and this time we're not playing along.

I completely understand and along with others, am none to happy with Steam and the incessant pushing of updates.

I'm actually in the process of formulating a snail-mail letter to the powers that be at Steam. I know that I'm just one voice informing them that their process leads to doubts as to whether I wish to continue purchasing from them as the convenience I believed once offered by using their service has now become less and less convenient.

PWizard, Caliber, and the rest of the team- thank you for hanging in there and putting up with what no doubt is a time consuming and frustrating situation. Like I've said before, the lifetime membership to this site was the best money I've ever spent. Much kudos to you all.

I couldn't agree with you more. After each update I keep fearing I will come here and they will say they are taking a break as they did with L4D.

If Steam is really doing this so we cannot use the trainers, that has to be one of the dumbest reasons for it. Why in the world would they even care about how you play thier game? Plus what business is it of thiers. Trainers do not work on deadicated servers anyway so you cannot cheat in them with a trainer. Now local area connections you can use trainers, but they allow cheats to be used. So I think the main reason for updates is to keep people who hack the game in some way out of the game. Just my thought.

It's probably not the trainers CHU makes, more about stopping online multiplayer hacks people like H4x0r make.

Thanks for giving kudos to PWizard, Caliber, and the other members of the C.H. team - I totally agree!

We are being consumed by statism (state-ism). It is very unfortunate that our normalcy bias prevents us from being aware of this. Also, regardless of our level of awareness, the end of this process will be our enslavement to the state.

G'day Guys

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents about the updating. Not sure if you guys are aware but you can in fact turn off the continual updating.

Open steam, goto your games page, right click on the game, eg L4D2, properties, update tab and change to "Do not automatically update this game"

Hope this helps

Also, to PWizard and the boys at CH, thank you for all your hard work and diligence in keeping up with steam
