Steam doeasn´t WORK!!!! on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PC Message Board - Page 1

Can someone tell me if it's only my problem??
I tried to open Steam in every exiting way and it says:
"Steam servers are currently in the progress of a major update, this may take a few hours. Please try again later."
But i don't belive it!
I can't play the MW2.

Sounds more like something to be asking steam than asking us. Though if it says the're doing an update, I would imagine they likely are. Which is one reason so many of us hate steam. Steam has issues, we can't do what we want.

Oh thanks, I WAS going to buy MW2 off Steam.

If I buy it from the Xfire Game Store will it use Steam still?

Yep, it will. I bought it in the store and it still uses steam.

There is a steam update for the upcoming Left 4 Dead 2. I spotted this because when my steam was updating MW2, it was also updating steam client.

Everything will be fine after all, just expect a lot of inital updates for MW2.

There was a MW2 update this morning. Working now.

Regardless of where you buy the game, it installs STEAM and the game is permanently activated to your user account THROUGH STEAM

Game works now, but trainer doesn't due to the update.
