Really? I thought the whole point of Trouble on the Homefront was to get the overseer to stop the "war" between the teens and the Overseer and his goons, and if the overseer isn't causing trouble (Because he's dead) how does that work?

Foxxie is correct. "Trouble on the Homefront" is directly dependent upon you not killing the Overseer.
Also, if you destroy the Vault's reactor, you enable a random encounter later on where Enclave forces kill Amata, who is wandering around the wastes.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'
