I like that in college basketball, you have to actually accomplish something to get into the tournament.
There are like 350 teams, and 64 seeds so you have to be in the top 20-or-so-% of D1.
That's a lot tougher than in college football, all you need is six wins to qualify for a bowl invite.
There were what, 34 bowl games this year. 68 teams. Out of 120 in college football. You don't even have to be in the top 50% of the league.
Woooooooooo, we made the Phyllis and Bob's Steakhouse and Fine Flatware Emporium Chewing Gum Bowl and Grammar Jamboree!!!! And we did it being 6-6!!!!!!!

Not for long, they're expanding the tournament to 96 teams. Which would mean that sub-500 teams from the big 12 and just about everybody from the big east would make it.
I for one, believe that this is a dumb move motivated by dollar signs.
