Lord of the Rings is a lot like that. In that all of the boring stuff lasts three or four times too long. We don't need fifteen minutes of Frodo and Sam staring longingly at each other
Agreed. I wanted to drill a hole in my head just to see the ending of that "The weight is too hard Sam. I believe in you Mr. Frodo" bull. I think Peter Jackson scenes have fulfilled the criteria of some countries' torturing methods.

Yeah, the lovey dubby stuff with Frodo and Sam is awful, but other than that eh. A lot of the stuff that was cut out of the movie should have been replaced with those sequences.
