In case you wonder what's going on with the achievement American Hero, it's bugged. If you have all required regions before the end of winter 1824, you won't get the achievement. How it's done is after ending the turn winter 1824, buy or take by siege your last required region in the turn summer 1825. At last that's how I got it. And Strategic Genius achievement is apparently awarded on very hard even though it says comeplete the game on hard to get it. I finished a hard game and didn't get it so it must be awarded on very hard only then.

And I think that the achievements that are basically milestones of killed enemies DO NOT get accounted for if you kill 500000 enemies simulating battles, I'm not sure though.
