Dragon Age: Origins Message Board  

I realize this isn't in regards to the console, but your items equipped are listed in the save file xml for your character. Something along the lines of "Slot Index="6" ResRef="gen_im_arm_bot_med_dwv".

Could it not be possible to add items to your character in this matter? Though, obviously one would need a list of said items.

I've tried editing the .xml files, changes doesn't take effect. The .xml file is there for your on-line profile, and doesn't affect the game at all... What you see in the .xml files, however, are in the savegame files as well... (encoded ofc...)
So the game extracts certain information from a save file to an .xml file.

Figuring out how the encryption / decryption works is a way of editing saves, but it'd be easier to find the addresses / values we need, and make a save editor. I'm sure some people are already working on it.

Just bumping since we are on a new page now. Still haven't figured out how to close the console. I can't even hit ESC and save the game and come back in with my changes.

Nvm, I am dumb. Just thought about typing "exit" and it pushed right out of the editor.

Has anyone found any new codes? I'd like to be able to spawn items, or add stats or talent points without gaining levels (closest way to switch my guy from 2 hand use to sword/board).

You guys are going to love this.

runscript addtalent ###

some talent ###:
4020 - Rogue section of talents (add this first and then the others below)
100001 - Deft Hands
100002 - Improved Tools
100003 - Mechanical Expertise
100004 - Device Mastery
100075 - Stealth
100076 - Stealthy Item Use
100077 - Combat Stealth
100078 - Master Stealth

Some other interesting commands:
runscript zz_party_addgifts (add a bunch of gifts to the inventory. I'm guessing high level gifts)
runscript zz_givearmor (gives a set of Dragonbone armor)
runscript removetalent ### (self explanatory)
