I don't bother with the browser, I can't even get a coop going between friends... this is ridiculous...

I used hamachi to co-op with a friend, once hamachi is set up properly it worked like a dream.

He's across the country and we just did a LAN game.

This happens in pretty much every game that uses gamespy... people not being able to join friends games or any for that matter. The solution is simple.. unplug your modem from the router and plug your computer's ethernet cable into the modem, unplug the modem from power, wait a few secs, then reconnect the power. Wait a few seconds, windows should automatically detect the new network settings and voila, works for me every time.

Yeah, this is pretty much the only sure fire solution. ALL gamespy powered MP games have these issues.

Here's a simple solution for the Online server browser, Select Multiplayer from the main menu, put your mouse over the Join Game button and push the enter key 5-10 time's and the server list will load fine. I have played for 7 hours online this morning with the fix.

I would like to learn why friends cant connect to my server... I opened ports and turned off the firewall but still my friends cant connect... I hope they fix this issue because it's a great game so far.

BTW - The trainer DOES work for online... I wouldnt use it though that would be pretty cheap.

im still worried that using the steam trainer in single player even just for health or shields will lead to repercussions when taking that character online. what are peoples take on this aspect?

I wouldnt risk getting your account banned from Steam... It could be considered a hack especially since it works in MP.

Don't use the cheat in MP and I bet Steam won't care about cheating in SP.
