I have to report that I am experiencing the exact crash-to-desktop problem as well. I bought this game off Steam several days ago at Steam sales, when I ran the trainer program it caused the game to crash at a certain time interval into the game.
I would appreciate if someone could take a look into this issue, and perhaps update the trainer please, thanks.
Downloaded the Trainer 1.42.1 Now it's almost time for Borderlands 2 and I never played a Siren, started the trainer, pressed f1 pressed num4. Shortly after that when I encounter a npc or interact with something I get this error.

I have the GOTY Edition (shouldn't matter?) and the latest patched Steam version. Tried the 1.42 Trainer also. Steamcommunity was deactivated, shouldn't matter either?
Would be nice if you could look into it just wanna rush through the game with a Siren before BL2 comes out.

I still play the game and use the trainer at certain points where det game is just to hard, like Crawmaxs. And if im fast enuf I get it done and save before crash.
Hope you will reconsider and still oppdate this great trainer for Borderlands, as it still one of my favoritt games.
Any idea if you play with steam off-line or other ways to deaktivate this single player anti cheat check.?
edit: Steam off-line mode dont help. Crash after 30 min. Still to try to turn off internett connetion.
I've found that if I don't use the trainer to alter my grenade number, I go much much longer without a crash. But if I use the grenades cheat, I will crash within 20 minutes. So far, I haven't used the grenade cheat on a fresh game started today, and I have yet to crash, and it's been hours now.
edit: Let me clarify. So far, the only cheats I have used are Super Health, Super Armor, Mega Ammo, and No Reload.
edit2: 3 hours on the dot, I crashed. And now I'm crashing every half hour on the exact minute.
