I cant get the bonus units becuz i already have the special forces edition. Since the steam client recognizes that as already downloaded. It wont let me purchase the new DLC and get the 3 extra units. Now people who didnt even buy the special forces edition get the bonus units and guys like me cant get the units becuz i already bought it, lol Wat The.....
You can gift the item to your own email address through steam and then download the dlc. I haven't done this personally but some sucess has been reported on ETW's offical forum.
You could probably wait a while though. It seems likely that not giving the Special Forces edition the preorder units is an oversight that will probably be rectified.
it WORKS!! yea for all you guys who want to spend the 2 DOllars all u gotta do is gift your own email address then when you receive the email, and open it steam lets you decide which units you want to download so if you already have SF edition and want the 3 bonus units, just add those 3 and its done...
Hold out no longer,! SEGA has decided to provide all those who own the Special Forces Edition of Empire: Total War with the bonus content, free of charge. Owners of qualifying accounts will automatically receive this content when you log into Steam.
If you'd like to confirm your account has been granted these units, right-click on the game in Steam to view Empire's Properties, then select the DLC tab.
Those who've purchased Empire: Total War - Special Forces Units & Bonus Content DLC and previously owned the Special Forces Edition of the game will be refunded accordingly. Our apologies for any confusion, and our thanks to SEGA for delivering their bonus content to Empire's most loyal fans.
