You have to wait till he gets closer, you need the perfect timing to blast your shots. The more closer he is, the more damage you instantly inflict. Keep trying. And with mashing the buttons, there's no other way but to react faster.
RE:5 great game but worst horror survival game b/c of it's not scary at all instead it's become arcade survival game.
I miss the old Resident Evil where you fight off bunch of zombies coming at you with only a pistol with few rounds of ammunitions.

yeah, that's right...RE5 is not as scary as some of the previous Resident Evil games, but at 10 years old you are not always mature enough to filter the kind of scenes you might get, and be able to sleep at night. Some of the scenes do stick in the mind, and that's what I would be concerned about if it was my youngster. These games are rated as Mature for a reason, but everybody seems to know best these days.

I remember when I was early in my teens when I first played the RE series...I couldn't sleep at all. It felt like I had insomnia or something. Those scenes were embedded in my mind.
Finished the game and the ending is awesome. Yeah, it is a arcade survival game but I guess Capcom had that in mind. Something different for the franchise. I will be replaying for sure! You really need to play this game on a top of the line machine, big ass screen, surround sound or else it just won't intrigue you.
