How do you take over "neutral" units?

Small spoilers in the following:

Ie.: how do I manage to take over a unmanned vehicle, and does the trainer interfere with the functionality?

The reason is that i am unable to get them: Annoying in the mission in the harbour where you are supposed to fix a bradley (couldnt do it) but REALLY annying in the mission after the BIG bomb, where I cant finish the mission.

Am I doing something wrong or should something be off?

it looks like the trainer is interfering with the live from the vicles. Got the same problem. But with soviet assault

Oh yeah - my bad ...

I am playing Soviet Assult as well, but the level is in both games...
