Use common sense! Treat other members (even new ones) the same way you want to be treated (If you happen to a masochist, you're on the wrong site). This does not mean that you cannot get verbally medieval on someone's ass, however, you better have a damn good reason to having to resort to harsh language towards another member. Swearing like you were drunk is not acceptable at anytime. Trolling will eventually get you banned. If you must flame (and the flame is warranted), be smart, witty, and creative about it. Generally, you will never go wrong by being nice, mature, and polite to other users (yes the new ones too).
And no..."he insulted game x" is not a good enough excuse.
Am sorry from my side.
But that was for.

Off topic, but hypothetically;
If you're married to gaming, can insulting game Y (i.e. person X's "wife", in a sense) count as a warranting excuse?
Insulting someone's wife sure is a bad, bad thing?
This was just a small thought to take the edge of the debate itself

Didn't look like much of a debate until you and SecondLife engaged. HonestGamer and the others were just spewing nonsense.
I've just picked up the game today, and I haven't had the time to play it thoroughly, so I shall reserve my judgement of the game until a later time.
Although I will say this - the NFS series hasn't been the best in recent years, and unlike some I plan to take the removal of Black Box EA from the development to be a positive thing. Black Box has only made one epic racing game, and that's Burnout Paradise. They didn't do well with ProStreet, and Undercover came off as an unfinished product. I just hope the arrival of Slightly Mad Studios has made things better.
And yes, from what I've seen the ****pit view is a direct idea port from GRID, which was a direct idea port from Project Gotham Racing 4. The aggression/precision thing isn't a port from GRID, it's a new innovation. A lot of you really need to tone down the hot air and think before speaking.

How come? That I (I can/will not speak for others) came with solid arguments pro- and con a certain game?
That's a good example of debating, and that's a huge difference from bashing, which is often rude and disrespectful, both towards the user and the forums themselves.
I do not believe I insulted anyone, and if I did i cincerely apologize as it was not my intent. The riddle, however, was meant to show how serious any game vs. another game debate is, both of them are just a collection of bits (0s and 1s), no matter how you look at it.
I for one find the best NFS games to be NFS1/SE and NFS:Porsche, as they had some real driving feeling for the time, pretty well made games to be honest.
As said: hot air is useful in the right environment (such as a hot air balloon), but not in the wrong dito. (such as a fridge, or a freezer) - yet again an example to show how serious the interwebz are - as long as you're not getting personal or down right dirty it isn't really worth going postal on someone else over.
