Be that as it may it doesn't hurt to empathize with the people who lost their lives in such tragedies. Try putting yourself in their situation and you'll suddenly find yourself hopeless. However it is my belief that this certain "tsunami" could've been avoided if America or rather those in charge really wanted to avoid it.

How exactly would that work? It was caused by an earthquake, I doubt anyone could do much to avoid that.
