The yellow ranger was asian. The pink ranger was a girl. The black ranger was black. The red ranger was indian. And the blue ranger was a white guy with glasses for some reason.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Vikings discovered America? And Columbus discovered the Carribbean.

Columbus thought he had traveled around the globe and that the Americas were India. So he called the the natives "Indians." (the Caribbean are a part of the Americas btw, central America)
It didn't have anything to with who discovered what first.
