I watched a few of your battles.

It looks like you know the basics of building a team, however you have some trouble handling them in game.

Your battle against Kahlil is a good example, it looks like you both are about equal in ingame battling, however s/he IV breeds (can't be 100% sure, but it does look like it).

At the beginning his/her Swellow could have been one hit killed by your Weavile, however they do have the same base speed, you didn't breed IVs and you have 40 EVs in HP, therefore the Swellow would have been faster.
You made the right move by using Swords Dance at the beginning of the battle (most Swellows use Protect at the beginning of a battle to activate Guts + Facade), however on the next turn Ice Shard would have been your best option (as a standard Swellow is faster than your Weavile and will easily one hit kill).

After your Weavile died you sent out Jolteon, once again it was slower than the opponent's Swellow (which would have 372 speed assuming it is maxed) and it was one hit killed.
Jolteon has a higher base speed (base 130 as opposed to Swellow's base 125) than Swellow and will easily one hit kill with Thunderbolt.

Over all, you know how to play competitively a little bit, but you still have a fair way to go.

i love hearing criticism, especially from people who know what their talking about. Not just "GG noob you suck", but yea my weaviles speed wasn't maxed out and i probably would have saved jolteon a death by sending out gyarados first. but i wasn't aware it would be faster than jolteon. Kahlil is a better battler (like you said takes IV's into account) and i probably should take IV's into account or else losses will start to pile up in more competitive play.

If you download the database here Link you'll have more access to information than you did before (I know you use Smogon, however Smogon assumes your using Shoddy-battle and not the ds games, so it assumes you'll always have max IVs and instant access to all attacks, where as this will give egg groups, an IV calculator and other things you may need for the ds).

Just be aware it hasn't been updated for Platinum.

nice, thanks. after i learned how to EV train it didn't seem that hard of a task, but for some reason the IV's seemed more daunting. Maybe after i get the hang of that it won't be so bad.
