So there was recently a bit of a problem with a whole bunch of GD topics getting bumped at once and causing annoyance for most members trying to find current topics, so I was thinking maybe after say after a month without a post, a GD topic is automatically locked?
I don't know if this would be possible but it could come in handy.
In the event of an old topic needed to be revived you could simply request a moderator to unlock it for whatever purpose.
I agree with this, GD is much more active than other boards and its topics die faster. After a month, a topic is pretty much guaranteed to be dead.
However, we should remember to keep this rule exclusive to GD, as there's no point to putting it in OTD and game boards tend to have discussions that span over months.
That said, it's a great idea. It would keep the newer members from bumping old topics and keep discussion fresh.
Sounds like a great idea. Although if there were no Moderators online at the time, there could be a topic that requires unlocking that may be a month old.
Don't take anything seriously after "Sounds like a great idea." I just woke up from a nap, and my brain isn't functioning as properly as it should be.
The bulk of the recent bumps (mostly today's) have come from OTD.
I think that if it is implemented, it would need to be for both social boards. IIRC bumping is allowed on title-specific boards, so no need to do the whole auto-lock deal there.
