Before I choose a side, UNA007 has got to be the most uninformed user ever. Most of his complaints about consoles are meaningless. No audio video configuration. You don't need it, PCs have those so the game will work on several different types of rigs, consoles just work, you don't need to modify any setting. No cheats. I'm not even going to say anything. No patches. Having patches isn't a good thing, they fix things with games that don't work, if there aren't any patches that just means the game works. And consoles do have patches, what do you think updates over LIVE are? And I'm sure PSN has similar updates. FPS are a pain to play. Opinion. I find a mouse awkward and simply can't play an FPS on anything but a console. GTA IV only works once installed. Wrong.
I vote console. Computers might be more versatile but they're also more fragile. A computer can get a virus or dozens of other dangerous things like worms and spyware. Sure you can buy software to stop this but that isn't free, consoles simply don't need such software. PCs also feel very detached from the gameplay. When I play on a console I have a vibrating controller and you can feel whats happening in the game. Take Forza Motorsport for example, I can feel the friction of the tires through the controller, no computer can do that. And of course there's the cost factor. Games outpace computers way too fast, a cousin of mine has the most monstrous computer I've ever seen and it can't even play GTA IV on full graphics. With consoles there is never to risk of a game not working, every single XBOX 360 game works on every single XBOX 360 just as every PS3 game works on every PS3.
Obviously some genres simply don't work on consoles or PCs. RTS are PC games, they require many different options that just can't be done using a controller. Driving games don't work with keyboards. Whereas controllers let you turn the wheels a little at a time or apply limited throttle or brakes, a keyboard is simply an on-off function. That is no way to drive a car.
You don't want to know the reason he got banned for.
You really made a huge amout of research on that, but still the PC wins.
The PC is nearly compatible to every gaming controller - The joystick, gamepad and the wheel.
+Getting viruses does not make the PC get judged negatively as its an entirely different aspect.
One more thing, you can modify your PC, upgrade its specs which you can't do it in the console which is destined to get outdated soon.

You don't have to upgrade your console. It will always run the games that are made for it. On the PC, however, you always have to upgrade and modify your hardware to keep up. This is why some people prefer a console over a PC.
Also, these are just opinions. The PC nor the console "wins" the argument, as there are positive and negative attributes to owning either one.

That's also why I choose my PC over all consoles, with one caveat.
It's wonderful to be an elitist.
The caveat is that I play sports titles on consoles. They're the only thing for which a joypad works well.

It is true that a PC is compatible with controllers, but the only reason they're there at all is because consoles proved how superior controllers are to keyboards for many game types.
As far as viruses, you can't say it's a different aspect. When you consider a PC for anything you take every aspect of it, you can't simply leave the bad behind. No one buys a computer to do nothing but play games. They surf the internet, which opens the risk of viruses. A virus doesn't care what you do with your computer, it simply works to destroy it.
Upgrading a PC isn't something that people do because they want to, it's something they do because they have to. Upgraded specs are a necessity because games outpace those specs very fast. Consoles are designed with long lifespans, the XBOX lasted 5 years, the PS2 lasted 10. No computer hardware stays current that long. Consoles are replaced eventually but don't require constant upgrades like PCs do.

Not true, the only way to properly control a car in a racing game is with a joystick.

I haven't upgraded my PC for over three years and I can still play everything on high settings.
I don't know where console gamers get this idea that you need to upgrade all of the time.
Just make smart buys in the first place--ie: NEVER, EVER BUY RETAIL, ASSEMBLE IT YOURSELF--and you'll be fine for a long time.

Buy a steering wheel.
