On a lighter note, I'm travelling to a big city tomorrow without having booked any form of accommodation in advance. This should be fun!

I feel like dropping the ranks business. For one thing I can't be bothered to deal with all of the crap attached to it. Perhaps a better system is simply to rely on knowing that certain people are noobs and that some of us are superior.
