I have a question. If you set down a pair of Spikes, then you use Toxic Spikes the next turn, will the regular spikes get replaced by the Toxic Spikes?
Edit: This also applies to Stealth Rock

They stack, so you can have up to one layer of Stealth Rocks, two layers of Toxic Spikes and three layers of Spikes.
