    HI ALL,
I did WOOLF's post about unpacking all the files in the maindata folder and now my game wont start. Trying to figure out what I did wrong. He says to create a new folder called data in anno1404 directory. Is this where the maindata folder is or where the engine.ini folder is? Where the maindata folder is there is already a folder called data in there do I save all the files in that folder? I made a new folder where the maindata folder is and named it data1 because of the data folder that is already there. I changed the name of the maindata folder to maindata-old I changed the engine.ini to 1 and replaced the ships folder to. But the game still did not start. If I change the maindata-old folder back to maindata then the game starts as normal. What did I do wrong? Any help would be great.

    Thanks
    xnjguy

I didn't rename the maindata folder in the game directory (I actually forgot to) and oddly enough, the edited files in assests.xml work fine So maybe it might work for you if you don't rename maindata directory

I'd just like to thank WOOLF and rcboothman. With the Silver Ship unlocked and the files for the ship edited, it's unstoppable! I played the imperator scenario and destroyed all my adversaries the first 5 minutes of gameplay. Now I am free to take my time and build.

I have a question. If you edit the values of the Silver Ship MaxHitpoints to more than 20000, or the attack range to more than 60, will it crash the game? Justing wondering if you can add any value for those settings.

Also, is the only way to get the Gold Ship to complete some kind of achievments? Or is there some kind of unlocker just like the Silver Ship you can get?

Nope, it wont crash, ive been experimenting, and ive set health to 50000, attackrange to 500 attack power to 500, now my silver ship can 1 hit kill any ship or building anywhere on the map without even moving. Its my own little planetary defense system

Unfortunatly at present, there isnt away to unlock the gold ship besideds via achievment, since the acievent ments are part of your online profile, so you cant cheat that. If you notice when playing the game, there is the annoweb exe runnign at the same time. This prevents tampering with your profile stats as well i think

Found another useful entry, influence, i managed to make it so that my starting marketplace covers the entire island your on. Not only does that mean you can build anywhere on the island but it means you dont have to waste space on building more than one
Ive worked on orient only since the AI mostly builds occident.
Ive made it so i only need 1 bathhouse, 1 mosque, 1 marketplace to fulfill the needs of every nomad/envoy on an entire island, as long as they are connected via roads

My latest project is to try an make it so i can either increase the radius around coast buildings so i can build my quay wall further out, or change the influcence type quay wall's need to build, that way i can completly corner off the sea.

Let me know the entry for the radius around coastal buildings. That would be a nice one to know.

Ive not had much luck so far, ive tridd changing the influence radius, but it doesnt seem to work for harbour buildings, i then tried changing the type of influence it needed, which went a bit odd, the radius for harbour was the restriction, but it wouldnt let me build on water anymore, though i could build it on land, and even further up onto land than normal. If anyone else wants a go, the quay wall is classed as 'footbridge' in the assets file

    rcboothman,

I was wondering, is there any way of editing how many peasants, citizens, nobles can occupy a building? You wouldn't have to worry about the radius of churches, taverns etc if you can somehow edit how many people can occupy a building. Just a thought.

Also what file has the radius for buildings? And what should I look for? Influence?
