Anno 1404: Dawn of Discovery Message Board  

How do you win this? i spend 2 hours killing wave after wave and it never seemed to end, i was suppose to deliver a message to some guy but i explored the entire map and couldn't find him...

Don't know how to win it ywet, i'm in the same mission.
But when you get asked to find the grand vizier. You need to pick up some documents from your warehouse. Load them in to a ships cargo and double click the item. your will be asked if you want to start the exploration or what it's called. choose yes and you ship will sail of automaticly.

When it tells you to deliver the letter get the letter out of your inventory, then put it in a trade ship, activate it and the ship will head off the map then it will come back and a timer will start for the backup ships to arrive.

The ship that you used to talk to the npc, who gave you the quest, should of put the item into your ship's cargo hold or in a slot on your ship. You left click on the tiem and a check mark and x icon will appear below the item to left and right. If you choose the check mark, then your ship will immediately start to travel off of the map, but you put some ships to escort it until it is off of the map, since enemy ships will come and attack it as it tries to leave the map. After 15-30 mins it will return and say that the quest was a success and 15-30 mins later the king or whoever the letter was for will arrive.

You can't win this mission by force of arms.

Even if you intercept the transport boats that Lucius sends, enemy armies will spawn, at regular intervals.

Only way to finish the mission succesfully, is by defending your city as long as Al Zahir need to rescue you (like previous posters said).
