S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky Message Board  

Can I make the trader mod work with Steam 1.5.10? I use XP Pro. I extracted the zip file into C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\stalker clear sky\_appdata_\gamedata\configs\misc\trade, Nothing happened when I visited the swamp trader before I accepted any missions. Any solutions?

It tells you in the read me where to extract it for steam.

Thanks, but that's where I put it. The trader mod readme says to extract it to "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\stalker clear sky\_appdata_". The trader mod download consists of "gamedata\config\misc\trade\trade_trader_mar_csky.ltx. And that is where it is. But it still doesn't work.

Oh I forgot about something. Do you have a file called fsgame.ltx in the main stalker directory? If this is the first mod you have used, you would not have edited that file. Open it and change the second line to

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

One of the true's should be false if you have not changed it before, make sure both are true.

Thanks, but the swamp trader mod still doesn't work. I edited the fsgame.ltx file to:
$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

I have the same problem with my laptop and my desktop. One is a Vista system and the other is XP. Both of them are using the Steam version 1.5.10. The trader mod won't work on either system.

You have to edit fsgame.ltx as in above post. I also use Steaqm version, and for me mods work fine with gamedata folder in the root of the game, i.e.: \\STALKER Clear Sky\gamedata. Try that.

I installed the mod in the game directory and restarted the game. I immediately die upon starting the game. Does anyone know about this?
