It's easy. DONT do the mission with a low lvl captain. Do it when you have enough equipment. I did it easily because I was quite experienced. My captain is atleast lvl 7 and I did it easily without the trainer.

They wouldn't put blood in it due to the rating of the game. Spore was originally made for creators and children.
It's the reason why they made a Spore Creature Creator seperate from the game.
