but for me i still prefer the nukagrenade. an obscenely powerful blast coupled with a lingering napalm effect. the gift that keeps on giving.

Plasma rifle, coz watching your foes turn to green puddles of goop is priceless and generally it's a good weapon that can get the job done.

my fav weapons are the firelance(alien blaster v2.0) and the tesla cannon from the broken steel dlc

The tesla cannon seemed a little unbalanced, it takes 2 hits to kill a soldier from point blank range but obliterates a Vertibird with 1 shot.

The special Chinese Assault Rifle (the name escapes me). The ammo is fairly common, getting it repaired is easy, its powerful and reasonably accurate.

The Slo-Burn Flamer is also a good weapon.

Ahem, my modded Desert Eagle . Spread of 0.0, 999999 DPS, 0.0 AP usage, NEVER breaks, fires .44 Magnum rounds (which is real easy to get with the Pitt) and on Crit: VictoryRifleKnockdownSpell effect.
