For some reason, while the trainer will give me one-turn units, one-turn research, and I suspect unlimted travel (which I don't use) ... I can't make it do one-turn buildings. Not even regular buildings (in case wonders are treated differently). Any ideas why this might be?
Edit: Also, 1-turn research doesn't just affect the 'currently shown' items. If I turn it on, and get one civ done in one turn, then turn it off - I get all research for one turn up to (usually) around astonomy then it eventually stops.
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I too have the same problem with 1-turn buildings, however, my research tree seems fine, I'm now way into the "future tech" levels having completed all other research, though astronomy was one piece of research given to me, so maybe i have bypassed any bug in the 1-turn research option?
If CH can find a solution to the 1-turn buildings problem I'd be grateful, I'm using the UK retail version of Civilization IV Complete with Beyond the Sword updated to 3.1.9 and used with the 319 trainer
I have the same problem as well. With no way to fix the trainer and no way to roll back the version of the game. Very disconcerting. Looks like I'll have to reinstall.
Short of mailing PWizard, i don't think so, I'm guessing either the team can't find the memory address to remedy the trainer problem, they use a slightly different release of the game to test, in which the trainer does work for them, or simply attention on CivIV is no longer a priority.
I have a similar problem with a half functioning trainer over on the Men of War board, where it seems UK gamers cannot use the 1.11.3 trainer for super infantry and large clips, whereas american gamers can
