I have been reading peoples posts on Editing save games but how? I don't see an import in Gem other

I have been reading peoples posts on Editing save games but how? I don't see an import in Gem other then maps. What am I missing? I love this game.

It has nothing to do with the GEM editor, and yea this game is great. Here's a link that will give you an idea of whats involved.
