Mix your Pokemon up. Don't just have all fire (etc.) type Pokemon. Also teach your Pokemon different types of moves so they could surprise your foe.

I also discovered that the E4 becomes infinitely less onerous if you have Kyogre or Rayquaza on your team. In addition to your starter, this can be an incredible combination.

you can beat it with 2 pokemon blaziken about lv.56 moves blaze kick/or/fire punch,skyuppercut,double kick,and fire blast.and the legendary kyogre about lv. 49/50 moves ice beam,waterfall,hydro pump(incase need),and earthquacke(maybe spelled wrong)and you can beat the elite four easily.use blaziken on the first guy,use kyogre on the second person,use blaziken on the third person use kyogre on fourth,and kyogre/blaziken when battling steven.Make sure you have 10 hyper potions,2 full heals,and 2super potions.
