I was wondering since Microsoft will be flagging and resetting the gamerscore of those who use external means of cheating, will Microsoft be able to detect that we are using a trainer through Games for Windows - LIVE?

Most Likley. I remember before where you had to delete a windows live file just to enable the trainer, and that file was the file that was blocking it. So if a file could block a trainer, it could probably detect that you are/were using one.

Only applies to Xbox Live, not GFWL. Microsoft knows games on PC get subverted. If that was the case AOE3 would have been scrapped. Don't worry about it, at least on the PC side...

To a point yes, they are hosted on the same server, but the two instances do not share the same cheat detection. XBL detects mods to the Xbox when a cheat is used in say Halo 3 to make a person invincible. You should be fine when using a trainer on GFWL. I've used one on Halo 2 Vista and Gears of War PC.

It's also a lot less straight forward than single player cheating, and is "viewed" as hacking.
