Left 4 Dead Message Board  

Ok so earlier today I was playing Left 4 Dead, never hacked it once before and I had probably 45 achievments. When I got on to play again I clicked Versus and it recommended me to play campaign mode first? I also have no achievments, and every time I click on Campaign or Survival it says "Stopping search"!

What happened?

already tried to reboot your steam client? might be a hickup in the network?

Well it seems to be working now, that scared me for a little.

I've had that happen several times before. Eventually it corrects itself, but it usually requires me to reboot my computer to completely reset Steam.

I think you need to restart because of the Steam service running in the background.
To save you rebooting try this,

Close the Steam Client
Goto command prompt (Start, Run, and type cmd)
Enter the following;
Net stop “steam client service”
Net start “steam client service”
Open the Steam Client

This will stop and then restart the service.
