I am at the part where you have to beat Gambit, I have tried almost every move to defeat him and can't. How do you beat Gambit?

When he jumps up on to the scaffolding, deflect (L2 button) the cards he throws at you. Then while he's stunned, lunge and attack him. You will need to do this a couple times of to progress.
