Star Wars is not a great work of filmmaking. But in 1977, it was incredible to see.

Star Wars... was a good movie...

Never said it wasn't, I implied that it isn't worthy of the reception it receives even today.

Bad acting, really cheesy writing for dialogue. Cinematography is weird too. It's just that it's so freakishly original that you forget these things and become completely intoxicated by the whole experience. Oh, and the music is also very good.
