I can't get the hang off the making the planet liveable on bit so i place the colony then what?

The early atmospheric manipulators are the meteor and ice comet(I have no idea) and then there is an atmospheric (cloud) increaser and decreaser. Try to get it onto the T* circles then do the following:
I recommend going to your home planet and taking all the life forms from there, when you get the colony on there, start by adding a small veg, then med veg, then large veg (veg stands for vegetation, so the plants from your home world) then add two herbivores and finally a predator.
Repeat the process for each of the T Levels
