Some rocks in your town have money under them hit them with a shovel and sometimes money comes out

It is usually one rock each day and it is random on which rock in your town.

For best results... Walk up to rock and have the rock north of you. Dig a hole on the east, west and south side of your position. That holds you to one place to wack the rock. Use a silver shovel for more money. Start tapping the A button as fast as you can. Each time you hit the money doubles that falls out. The most I have seen is a 2000 bell bag.
Anyone get more than that?

You'll usually get 4,100 bells total from the rocks. Sometimes you can get upwards of 7,000. But that's VERY rare, and requires a Gold Shovel.

Maybe it's because I use a Gold Shovel (just bury a regular one today and dig it back up tomorrow), but I consistantly get 8100 bells from my daily money rock.
My method? I only dig 2 holes - one to my side and one behind me. I wedge myself into the corner closest to the rock next to me and keep hitting rock without skipping a beat. Good luck!
