Carl Kolchak (the excellent Darren McGavin) is a sarcastic small-time reporter who has been fired from every big-name paper you can name. Outcast to Las Vegas, he is given a lead by an FBI agent about a series of murders... woman are found drained of blood with wounds in the neck. Is it a vampire, is it a psychotic serial killer? Only the man in the old straw hat can find out.

An excellent film--campy, sarcastic, irreverent. Darren McGavin (The father from A Christmas Story) is outstanding.
This film, as I mentioned, was the pilot for the 1970s series that was made into a simply abysmal remake in...2002 or so. Just terrible.
The series is excellent as well.

Crime Spree:
Movie was hysterical, if you want to laugh rent or buy this movie...sort of a Snatch offspring of movie. Harvey Keitel is funny as hell in it but the whole things great.
