Seen a few movies recently, just thought I'd share my opinions.

Quantum of Solace
Good Bond movie. Anyone who's liked any other of the Bond movies should see this one too. Sometimes gets a bit hard to follow if you haven't seen Casino Royale. Brilliant acting, very high quality film-making. Sometimes a bit too much happening at once. Too quiet at times, too loud at others. But hey, I had volume control, so I'm nitpicking.
8/10

Wall-e
Another piece of, no surprises here, absolutely amazing Pixar GENIUS. Best film I think I've seen all year, and I saw it on the 29th of December. Truly magnificent, I think, in every way. The hugely small amount of dialog is a nice change. Animation is top-notch. Lots of subtle humor with a sprinkling of not-so-subtle humor makes a great mixture. Numerous references also add to the enjoyability. Definitely a must see.
10/10

Bolt
To be brutally honest, the film didn't do much for me. A well-executed 'hero-realizes-he's-not' story let down by often weak humor and animation that could have been tidied up a bit. I only laughed three times, all before the 14-minute mark, and often wished one scene or another would end. Really, the only thing holding up this contraption is the decent plot. I truly expected better of Disney.
6/10

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
Can't hold a candle to the original, even though they're almost on par. What really lets M2 down, I think, is the often overly-silly story and its execution. The humor found in the original is back, is exquisite at times, and when it's not exquisite, it's still very enjoyable. Animation, as one would expect from Dreamworks, is very well-done. A decent follow-up to a hilarious movie.
8/10

Top Gear: Season 12, Episode 8
Not a movie, I know, so shoot me. Just thought I"d say, the best episode of Top Gear EVAR. Vietnam Special.
11/10

I saw SPIRIT the other day, 1/10. Terrible, It just makes me want to watch sin city which is enormously better. While watching it, I became embarrassed to be sitting in the cinema. The film attempts to carry itself with the same style as sin city while containing no character development or plot twists and was not even thought provoking. It was literally just Mcdonalds for your eyes, visually fattening.

I plan on seeing Valkyre when I get better, sick with the flu right now. Last movies I saw hmmm...

Superman Returns- It sucked, never was much of a superman fan but I didn't care for the actors playing their parts, seemed out of place.

Highlander: The Source- Wasn't great but wasn't too bad either, a pretty cool plot and characters. A guess I'm too much of a Highlander fan to run it into the ground like everyone else has. The series was so much better than the movies though...

i saw Benjamin button, it was really good in my opinion. it was really long, but it was necessary. it couldn't be any shorter. brad pitt is frickin hot!!

also i have seen yes man, and it was good. it was funny and made me laugh alot.

and i saw the day the earth stood still or something like that. it was ok. the movie itself was decent, but the ending really ruined it.

i saw the changeling too and i really loved it. it was a great and it was based on a true story. it really makes you realize how corrupt this world is and after your done watching it, you will still be thinking about it.

and i totally agree with you! i love wall-e!

Two-Minute Warning (1976)

I rented this from Netflix and watched it last night and...this morning it's on AMC. Nice.

This is a little known white-backlash film. Certainly not on the level of 1968's Targets or 1970's Joe or 1973's Walking Tall; but it is still a shapshot of what Philip Jenkins called the "Decade of Nightmares".

An otherwise intelligent and law abiding man, fed up with life and his society, suddenly snaps and goes on a sniping spree at a pro football game; at the same time being hunted by a police SWAT team.

Charlton Heston, Beau Bridges, and Jack Klugman are probably the most recognizable names.
