Stop explain , there is trainer from CHU which works so you can cheat if you wan't. I just told why they made anti cheat system. Also MS made anti cheat system not even R*. (MS payed 50 mio $ for games for windows live support & exclusiv xbox add on) And also the achievement system is there as extra feature and anti cheat system is good for it too. On Social Club site you can see top 100 in some categories etc.

I've seen some points you can gain in Windows Live thing. I think this protection is for preventing these points to be gained easily and effortlessly. What are these points for?

What is this xlive.dll file that I've been reading about on the forums? The trainer instructions don't say anything about that. Will the trainer work if I disable it? I don't really need xbox live as it doesn't add to my gameplay for single player and I don't care about achievements.

I think that disabling it will let the trainer do well. But disabling it will also mean losing all your savegames too! Do you still want to risk it?

How do you disable it anyways? I've just restarted the game, so it's not really a big deal for me to lose it and start over.

well the problem is you'll need windows live aka xbox live to play GTA: IV on the PC, if you don't want to you can always go back onto the 360 and play it.
there's no way to disable or uninstall the xlive on the pc, you'll need that to connect to rockstar social club in order to play the games.

These trainer works without disabling xlive.dll It bypass it. These points are just rewards for some achievements, which are shown on your xbox profile. And yes it is to protect that part of the game too.

Maybe Arhey's right and trainers don't have problem but even if you insist on disabling it: Look for a "Security Catalog" file in folder of the game (it should contain a .cat extension). Delete or rename it. That will disable it (I hope).
Tell me if it doesn't work 'cause I don't have the game installed right now.
