How exactly was it NOT a breakthrough?



People were getting bored of the same ol' WW2 theme in the CoD series, if anything was a disgrace, it would be licensing rights given to Treyarch. They tainted the CoD series name. (CoD3 wasn't that bad, CoD:WaW was completely messed, although same engine as CoD4, it requires a better pc for absolutely nothing better in visuals.)

No need to start a flame war...I think we all can agree each game has its charm, although I prefer WW2 over Modern Combat, its just my way really...you had real battles back then not like today but I understand why they branched out into the other games, as much as I love that era lets face it we're all tired of WW2...we need something different, whether its more Modern Combat games or possibly doing another war campaign change is definetly needed. I'd prefer Bosnia or something for MC but that's just me...I wish I could take the gore engine from World at War and integrate it into CoD2, that would be the ultimate as in my opinion its still the best CoD to date.

I actually think a WWI game would be a welcoming if not refreshing change of pace, I state my reasons why- Link

I think that a WWI type COD would be pretty cool. Because that way there is very few sub-machine guns and try to make the weapons closer to there real counter parts. That goes for both Modern Warfare and WaW.

CoD4 Is The Best In the CoD Series,Unfortunatly I Have CoD:WaW,Now That Ive Played It I Wish I Would Have Bought CoD4 Instead.

Yeah CoD 4 is way better than WaW but thuumbs down sorry!!!

just some info for ppl who come to look and dont know yet,
ther is no COD duty labled call of duty5/6 its just WaW which IS COD 4 WWII themed and Modern warfare 2 wont even have call of duty in he title and it comes out november 10 2009(11-10-09)
Modern Warfare 2 is just gonna be a sequal to CoD4, to continue the story
it wont have a zombie mode like WaW but it will have a spec ops mode which is 2 player and i heard is still similar to nazi zombies
