Fallout 3 - PC or 360?

Well, 'tis the season to be jolly, and after much procrastination I've been considering buying Fallout 3 as a sort of Christmas present to myself. I know if I buy the 360 version, there'll be minimal interruptions and the multiplayer won't be much of an issue. However, PC versions always bring up issues one way or another, whether it be miscellaneous errors to full-bore crashes. I'd just like to ask if there are any known issues with Fallout 3 on the PC?

Reason I'm considering the PC version is because it's substantially cheaper than its 360 counterpart.

Also, I'd like to know if the game would work fine with my specs:

Windows XP SP3
Intel Quad-Core CPU Q6600 2.4Ghz
4GB RAM
nVidia 9800GTX 512MB vRAM

Thanks in advance, Merry Christmas everyone.

No reason it shouldn't work. You might not be able to go for full graphics, but they should be good enough.

I got it for the PC, and as a stock game its just as buggy and as unstable as an over-modded Oblivion. I prefer PC because I have more direct control over aiming. And my monitor is WAAY bigger than my TV.

It's up to you. The PC version needs a lot more patches to become fully stable, but the 360 version will always be as steady as a rock.

Another thing, when the mods start poring in, you won't be able to use them on the 360.

well in my case i have the PC version with already almost 100 mods installed (including new 4000x4000 pixel textures) and i get no crashes or problems with the game or LIVE what-so-ever.

With that said. PC no matter what even if you do get bugs. Reasoning why:

1) Better graphics, PC is already capable of running Fallout 3 better than the 360 and texture mods make it look even better.
2) 5000 mods already out. NOTHING for the 360.
3) The upcoming DLC is exclusive to both the 360 and PC LIVE so we still get all that too.

So you go for the 360 you only get the Bethesda DLC. you go for the PC and you get about 100 mods a week (or more) and the Bethesda DLC. easy choice IMO.

why the hell would you download and install that many mods there must be over 80 conflicts! (don't write a list) any way before my 360 died i was hoping to get it for 360 as its wont just die when your game has a heart attack because of mods.

Yeah like the others said, go with the PC... I have somewhat the same pc and it runs just fine and looks great...
Well, I can only compare it to pictures of the 360 version and that isn't the same thing of course...

Anyways, go with the pc

I have similar specs to yours but with the slightly updated GTX+ card and can run FO3 with everything cranked, however, my native monitor resolution is only 1680 x 1050 Widescreen.

I've got all the eye candy mods installed, high res textures for just about everything, looks great and frame rates are most excellent.

I'm sure if I go much higher in screen resolution, then stuttering may indeed occur

Another note, I no longer use any 32-bit OS's so I run a dual-boot with XP Pro 64-Bit and Vista Business 64-bit, not run into any problems so far....
