I use the alien desintegrator(from Mothership Zeta), it does great damage and there is over 1500 ammo on the ship for it.

Also, a non-VATS critical with the Terrible Shotgun will take it down in one shot.

I like to go Chinese Stealth Armour (Operation: Anchorage add-on content) and the Shocksword (same content)

takes one to three hits depending usually. with 100 melee weapons skill.

EDIT: I forgot to mention needing good critical hit chance. So better criticals (i think is the perk) and high luck are a good way to go.

A single sniper rifle shot to the head, while in stealth at distance will take these down. If you have the skills for VAT mode then use VAT.

Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

Nope, although there are some places where you have a chance of randomly finding it. Other random encounters can also occur, so you'd just have to keep trying until you get it.
