I can't imagine how high the security is right now.
Yeah, I'm watching his speech too. But if anything bad is going to happen to him, its not going to be now.
And in the end, even though I didn't want him to be President, I don't want anything bad to happen to him. Because if something does, the hope and morale of everyone that believes in him will be crushed. That would be big.
I doubt anything will happen today. The intelligence services of all branches of government are on overwatch today. That is a lot of security.
I hope Obama serves his four or eight years and retires to a nice house in the Chicago suburbs. I don't like him, I highly doubt anyone else will in four years, but no matter how much I may dislike him if someone knocks him off, I'll go Jack Ruby on his ass. No one guns down a President in my town.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'
My roommate said something I couldn't believe while we were watching the inauguration- that there's twice as much security at the inauguration as there are deployed troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. I don't know if that's true or not, but it's still and interesting statistic.

Not to be condescending or patronising or anything like that, but that's exactly what he needs and wants from the citizens. Stand united despite the differences. He's got a lot of foreign support, well, at least in the Middle East anyways.
The recession is fueled by people who are scared, i.e. nearly everyone, about losing money. It doesn't help that Rupert Murdoch is doing a damn fine job of keeping us all in that state of mind.
