    Two things...

Firstly, if I were to guess based only on real world possibilities, I'd figure most if not all of those kids would be orphans. In a post-apocalyptic wasteland mommy and daddy might fall victim to any one of the myriad of enemies in the wastes. Super mutants, raiders, vampires, rad scorpions... etc.

Second... this is the 7th most disturbing thread I've ever read. A mod, you say? That enables you to kill the children... Erm. Well. Wow. My brain hurts now.

you obviously havn't played the first two fallout games . . .

about the history of little lamplight, i think they were originaly a schoolclass stuck in the caves, and they hadn't any contact to the vault-inhabitants directly.
one of the vault-technicians heared them, and thought it was his own child that died during the vaults experiments. the sound of laughing children drove him insane over the loss of his child.

it's not explained how the caves get "restocked", but since everyone turning 18 has to leave the caves, i think that those grown up children then send their own children back to the cave, so they can grow up in a save spot.
though nothing of this is explained ingame, but i think it would make sense.

    *TADAAAAAAAAAAAAA*!!!
Killable Children Mod Version 1 Link
and it allready started with the accusations of people who made or use this to be sick.

simple thing: if you don't like it, don't use it!

my own experience with children in the game is of 2 kinds.
on one hand i have "Knock Knock". she's nice, kind and fun to talk to about all kinds of stuff.
she lives with all those kids and behaves the same way, but she KNOWS calling grownup's "Mungo" isn't nice and she tries not to.

on the other hand there is "Squirel" who absolutly p;sses me off. he calls my character stupid and acts like he knows all and everything.
i REALLY like to slap him in his face and teach him some lessons on life.

depending on what kind of character you play, you might want to react in different ways to how NPC's act.
and i have to admit, that i would really like it, if either some NPC's, and especially some of the kids, would react more to what the player does.
a imprisoned child simply shouldn't insult someone who possibly wants to help.

so in my oppinion, this kind of mod opens up a much wider range of possibilities for roleplayers.
and like everything on the internet: if you don't like it, don't use it or look at it! =P
its so fast it can do an infinite loop in thirty seconds!! =)

    Nice idea Killa_B

I've wanted to teach Princess a lesson ever since I've met her the first time.

Won't harm Bumble, though. Reminds me too much of a certain someone.

And anyone who whines about it. It's a nuclear wasteland, there are no real moral rules. It's live or die and if Princess talks about having fun killing mungos, well... then my character can have fun kicking her ass, right?

    Dogmeat! Get her!

'Sides, it's a game, duh! It's not real.

If you have problems with such a mod, don't ever play Civilization. You can wipe out whole countries there, nuke cities, "breed out" other cultures, dominate earth and, pretty much, commit genocide and just because you don't see the children there, doesn't mean they don't exist! So, keep your pseudo-morals.

I have to admit, that my evil character felt a bit of joy in finally being able to use his alien blaster on those little punks in Lamplite.

Since there are people who give me crap for my grammar and is to lazy to check my profile I will say it here as well. I am dyslexic so give me a break as I *TRY* to spell correctly.

Am I the only one who met the kids underwater in the big hall? They just hang out there underwater, and next to their feet is a tunnel that leads nowhere. Swim into it and sometimes you get a nice angle when you die from drowning and start floating up he tunnel... Won't be downloading that mod, didn't even try to shoot the kids, how did you know they can't be killed? Oh well, I don't judge. You can do what the hell you want in a game, as long as you don't fantasize about doing it for real, then you're just a sick puppy... How long do you think it will take untill theres a game about cal-tech or columbine school shooting type of game? Would be the most controversial game of all times, and not on my waiting list...
