    Thanks for all your help,

I was on to the store, they said to return the disc and they will give me a replacement one.....was told I was not the first person with this problem.

I tried to install it on another machine, no luck

    Ah well these things happen...

    Such is life
Suppose I will just have to settle with Fallout 3 lol

I think I know what your problem is. As you stated before that it would not find "C:\program files\red alert 3/ra3/data/mapscampaign.big" I think you obviously tried to make a custom directory but you put the wrong slashes. it should only have "\" backslashes not "/" forward slashes. See if reinstalling with the default directory they give you fixes the problem.

For example heres my directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Red Alert 3 (Don't mind the x86 thing its just because of 64-bit windows)

    and it now works fine
ahh the joys of using my troops to knock seven shade of sh*te out of the enemy, just the way it should be

Thanks again, to everyone who help, it was much appreciated

If you didn`t go to the store and get a new one, you could have held down the power button till your PC shut down instantly, then select Safe Mode without networking drives. Installing then would have worked, as when I went to install Diablo 2 on my new computer it didn`t work (gave me missing character file(s)as my error) untill I ran in safe mode.
