I not even 50% finished but I wanted to travel to the Southern District. So I got on the RR Tracks and headed SOUTH, and then I switched to the ONLY road that goes that to the Southern District. I went through a dust storm...nothing to scary...then as I was driving...I sailed right off the map !!! So My question is , Can one drive to this place when they choose or will I get there when the game wants me to be there??? Thanks , jwill58

I think you need to complete the northern part of the story before you can proceed to the south. I'm now palying the southern part story at 51% complete.
