version of game on Company of Heroes PC Message Board - Page 1

How do you tell what version of the game you have? I have checked the main menu screen, and it doesnt say. I have right clicked on the shortcut for COH, and clicked on properties, and it doesnt say it there either.. Can someone tell me how to see what version i have?? or if it is just the original?? And if it is the original, what Trainer would work for it? Thanks

if you cant find it in main menu or shortcut go where your CoH is installed and search for ''Release_Notes.txt'' open it with notepad and the version of game should be first line.

ok.. that worked.. thanks.. it says version 1.0... I went to coh.patch.relic.com/ to download a patch for versions 1.0-1.4.. When i do what you said, and open the read me and check the version, will the version be different now?? I am trying to download a Trainer.. and their are no trainers for version 1.0.. What do i do??

Once you successfully patch CoH to an updated version (such as 1.71), download the trainer version that corresponds to the patch version.

Three step example for CoH version 1.40:

-Start with CoH version 1.00

1. Download the patch from Relic's website titled:

"Company of Heroes 1.00 - 1.40"
the downloaded file name could say "EN_100_140_Patch.exe"

-After successfully applying the patch, your CoH version should be 1.40

2. Download the CoH 1.40 trainer from cheathappens

3. Run the trainer, run the game

you forgot to put in that he'll need v1.4 No-CD/DVD fix to run the game.

Also worth mentioning, I have only used Cheathappens trainers for CoH versions 1.51 and 1.71+

I would update Company of Heroes to 1.71 if you can stand the downloading.
