The leaves are starting to change colors.
The birds are flying south for the winter.
    Its getting colder.
But things just got a bit hotter here at cheathappens.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, its that time of the year. The second annual CHU User awards, more commonly known as the Usies. Winners of this prestigious contest will receive the magnificent and rare rank of VIP with the possibility of other prises that are being discussed at this very moment.

Now, those new to the site may be asking "Insom, how do I win such a prestigious contest?" My answer is "BEHAVE!...well, that and contribute to the site"

Here's how it works. This year we have four categories, the users nominate people they think deserve to be in a category (no nominating yourself). The mods take those nominations, as well as their own, and come up with a final nominee list. This list is what we'd normally call "the finals". And being on it is an honor alone.

After spending some time in a dark smoke filled room (blame darkish for the bad light bulb and shibby for the smoke) we come up with a winner for each category, and those people get sacrificed to the blood god for the greater good of the site and it's farmland get fame and fortune in the form of a rank.

    This year's categories are

CHU Thread of the year- The following thread has been maintained and on topic for an extended period of time, the thread manager does an exquisite job of keeping his thread in tip-top shape.

CHU Youngblood of the year- The following user has been active for less than one year, and still, they make a huge difference and dedication to the website.

CHU Blog of the year- The following blog excells in content and entertains is readers. The award is based on content, not subscribers.

CHU User of the year- The highest esteem one could hope to receive in the usies, the user does everything in his or her power to make the site a better place.

Please note that moderators and founders are exempt from nominations (This is for YOU, not US). Please do not nominate yourself (Show some dignity). And lastly, have fun.

Now, CHU, I ask for nominations. They need not be for every category. Nor do they need to be but for one person. If you feel someone deserves an award, toss their name into the box.

Edit: you can see last years Usies at the links below.

One quick question, do I get to hand over my title to whoever wins it?

I want to do some kind of passing the torch style ceremony

One question: How and where do our votes get sent? By PM or on a post?
Currently lost, I make my way through life somehow without being in complete despair. Mostly alone due to timidity and fear, I wait for someone to clear the fog and break the shell hidden within.

If I am online, I am probably bored so be sure to send a message to me if you want.

IIRC, you post your nominations here in this thread:

CHU Youngblood of the year: Dhampy and Dancer087

Reason(s): They're both intelligent members with distinct styles of posting. Both have been here under a year, but both clearly have some previous forum experience, as you can tell by their mature posting habits and clever wit. Both are looked-up-to by newer members, needless to say, the site would be a far less interesting place without them.

CHU Thread of the year: CHU User League- Discussion Topic

Reason(s): It's still the best thread out there, despite it's recent dip in activity. It won this category's usie last year, but in my honest opinion, it deserves it again this go-around as well.

CHU Youngblood of the year - LoC_Leftie
Reason: I think LoC has made some great contributions in the time he's been here. He's helpful and his topics are relevant and interesting. I think he deserves this award for all of his input to CHU.

CHU Thread of The Year - Al-Pucino's guess the pokemon quiz
Reason: Al has managed to keep his thread interesting ever since it started. One look at the first post shows that he has massive support behind his thread. The quiz is fun and I think it deserves this award.

SOLVED: I'll just edit my post...

Heh, thanks, Latios. The biggest reasons of the sudden dip in activity: 1) This season is running based entirely on drpepper. 2) School.

Anyway, here would be my nominations. And no, I'm not done nominating yet. I have to go to school, that's all.

CHU Thread of the year- The following thread has been maintained and on topic for an extended period of time, the thread manager does an exquisite job of keeping his thread in tip-top shape.

Nomination(s) - quiz.. (lamile), guess the pokemon quiz (Al-pucino)

Clearly, both these quizzes would deserve the thread of the year. Both quizzes are almost unbelieveably well-contained by both lamile and Al-pucino. There is a lot of participation, though I myself have probably only guessed once or twice in either, and it seems as though it'll stay on the most popular threads list for awhile. If I'm not mistaken, one of them made the running last year, as well.

CHU Youngblood of the year- The following user has been active for less than one year, and still, they make a huge difference and dedication to the website.

    Nomination(s) - LoopDaLoop

Reason - Despite being less than a year old on CHU, I feel that LDL has done a lot more than most. He's already contributed to the site, allowing him to take a spot as an author. He visits regularly, that I know of, and on top of that, assists me in the CHUUL due to my need of it. Definitely one of those i'd-like-to-get-to-know-you users.

CHU Blog of the year- The following blog excells in content and entertains is readers. The award is based on content, not subscribers.

    Nomination(s) - Neo7

Am I allowed to do that? I find Neo's blog quite hilarious. I would put drpepper's here as well, but I've already nominated her for one, so...

CHU User of the year- The highest esteem one could hope to receive in the usies, the user does everything in his or her power to make the site a better place.

    Nomination(s) - drpepperfanatic, Ho-Oh2224

drpepper, for me at least, has a lot to be credited for. Attempting to bring the CHUUL back to the time when it was at its peak after nearly falling apart without any motives was great for me. Season 3 running entirely relying on drpepper, she had to do everything I had to do, and she didn't even have to. Even after that, she stills visits the board at a normal pace. She's been a great pal to me, talking through PMs and such, and I'm sure others find her a friendly user as well.

Ho-Oh, well we all know how long he's been here. As far as I can remember, he still visits the board on a regular basis as he used to, and he has quite an appeal on users. I believe he was a candidate for this award last year, but it went to potato, who is now a moderator. He'd surely have a chance at it now.

I'll only host a torch passing ceremony if you get caught on fire at the end of it.
