Regarding the Cheats & Hints.

Does using cheats in this game prevent you from being able to get achievements?

yes and they dont allow you to save when you use the cheats

Apparently there's a glitch that will allow you to use the codes and still save/gain achievements. Start a level, enter the codes you want, then play until you reach a checkpoint. Then exit back to the main menu. From there, choose continue and you should start back at the checkpoint you just reached with all the effects of the codes still enabled, but the game thinking they are off (so you can save, get achievements). Multiple people have confirmed this works, but there seems to be some disagreement about whether or not you need to die once you have reached the checkpoint.

Well u should be able to get achievements even with codes on

The costume codes yes, the cheat codes no.

To use cheats and still get achievements

reach a checkpoint in a new area after enabling the code(s), then intentionally die, exit to the main menu, and select "Continue". Manually save your game, then quit to the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Continue your saved game to be able to manually save and earn achievements with the code(s) in effect. Note: This must be done before finishing a level, otherwise your profile will be flagged as using cheat codes.
