thanks Duthos. I hope it will work this time. I'll again be referring this page to that forum i mentioned to you. I hope that's okay.

I'll report the testing results to you asap.

With the help of the GamingSteve.com community, I discovered a problem with the approach outlined in this thread. While it is minor, I figured I would pass it along. If you do not remove the Spore_Game.package file from the C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/SPORE/Data folder, you will notice some odd duplication behavior. One user reported duplicate parts in the cell editor, and I noticed duplicate entries in the rewards pane when unlocking new badges. Thankfully, removing the old file resolves the problem.

I hope this info is helpful.

V/R,
BinaryDigit

Actually, my mod is only part of the game_package. No one has reported the duplicate glitch (I encountered it in my first few attempts, which is why it is this format) although a few people have been having a rough time getting my effects to over ride the default ones. I am still investigating, but would certainly appreciate any feedback.

I should say ALMOST everyone seems to be using it OK. I have remeoved, and re-installed it on my sytem several time trying to find where the difficulty is for others, but have had no luck yet. Besides what I posted earlier anyway, it worked for a couple people.

ahhhh.... dam now you making it?
I already started a new game and I'am in Tribe...
Dam I made the perfect creature now i need to do it again...

You can keep your creatures, just not the game. When you advance a stage, delete it, and select your race for the game in the next phase.

Meh, I give up on this stupid game..............

I'm using the Extreme version of the mod, and I expected to
play a nice relaxed peaceful Terraforming/Trading game

Instead I've got SIX Aliens races at war with me, because
I couldn't afford to pay all of them 100,000+ and I've got Pirates all over the place

All this game really is, is a remake of the classic EA game called Starflight from 1986

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StarFlight

Same story basically, except THAT game was fun to play because it didn't have enemies attacking you CONSTANTLY.

Sorry to hear about that. Quite a few people are apperantly having troubles getting this mod to work, I am slowing getting to the bottom of it, I think.

If you haven't completely given up yet there a few things you can try to get my mod to work.

1. Delete all saves
2. Go to C:\Users\*user name*\AppData\Roaming\SPORE\Temp, delete the contents.

My tests show that if this works it only works for events and pirates, not warring nations, but I am still trying to get a good fix. Sorry to have disappointed you.

Edit - Remember you need to start a new game

Duthos, I'm not blaming you for this game being terrible.

I appreciate you taking your time to make the different edits and upload the different files with the varying options.

My frustration is with the game itself.

It seems to be the "Luck of the draw" on who your neighbors are going to be in the space stage.

My heart sank when the first 3 races I contacted were 2 war races and 1 religious nut race that follows spode

Other times I have played the space stage the first 3-4 races were the Hippy and Trade races.
Those games went well for a time.

But the current game I'm in, I will have to destroy 6 more religious and warring races before I can even settle down and start focusing on Terraforming and Trading.....

And I definitely don't want to start over, because I luckily terraformed a planet with the Purple crystals and am selling them for around 75,000 each

With that said, I did start a new game using the extreme.package,
