Whenever I try to start up the Mega Trainer, it says it has encountered a problem and must shut down. I've checked the troubleshooting, and none apply to me. Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like your antivirus, antispyware or other security app interfering with it. make sure run as administrator.

Turned them off, still happens. Is there a glitch with maybe STEAM or XFire running in the background? I really want to use the trainer

strange question: does you computer has a sound card? I don't know why the trainer should need it, but I got the same error once and when I turned on my sound system (which works as my sound card) it worked. I also had this with some games (spore doesn't need one), it seems some need a working sound card or something to work.
