Regarding the Trainer 1.5.03 (Russian/International), Unlimited Health, Unlimited Armor, ....

Hi everyone,

I had a weird problem with the v1.5.03 Trainer earlier today. The game crashed out with the bug report window coming up when I tried to load a save game that I made while using this trainer.

Up until today the game and the trainer worked just fine. But now, every time I try to load that save game or any of the other ones I made while using this trainer, the game shows the loading screens up to the CLIENT: Synchronizing stage and then it crashes out to desktop.

Is it the trainer that is acting up here or is there something wrong with the game?

P.S. As a side note, I've read everything in the trainer troubleshooting guide and the trainer worked fine for me with the ZoneAlarm and the anti-virus stuff turned on. I also did not bother using the no-cd fix. Even then, the trainer worked fine right up until it crashed earlier today...

There is a known issue with the game corrupting saves. There may (very likely) be a new patch when the North American release arrives.
Very rarely are there problems with the trainers from here.
EDIT: just to clarify. When I say the NA release I mean re-release

Did you do quick save or did you open up options to save?
Apparently there are problems with quick save... need to wait for a patch for that one I think.

Also did you save the game in v1.5.01 and tried to load the game after installing patch 1.5.03?

Check on the GSC Game World forum under 'Accepted bugs' that might help with your problems as well..

But what is generally accepted now is that this game is buggier than a street hooker even after a patch.

Thank you, mfker and Fubar69, for your quick responses. The saves were made using the pause menu in the game (I did not use quick saves at all yet) and my version of the game is v1.5.03 (I updated it as soon as I got my hands on the game as I downloaded the patch before buying the game in the first place).

Still, although this game is buggy, it is nothing compared to what the original (Shadow of Chernobyl) was like when it first came out. That game needed about 6-8 patches before it got better and even now it is still bugged.

As for the game corrupting the saves, well, i think I have a solution. I would simply try to locate where the game saves the files to and then back those files up onto a separate partition every time I make a save game in Stalker. That way, should the game kill my save game files, I can then copy the backups over and hopefully play the game properly.

However, I am still trying to find where the game stores the save game files. Does anyone know where they might be? 🤔

For those of you guys that have the same issue and want to know where the files are - they can be found in Shared Documents, STALKER-STCS folder. So far, my plan works in that the game has not got in the way of my save games...
